THE PORT OF FELIXSTOWE REGATTA is one of the eastern region's premier yacht racing events.
Run over a bank holiday weekend, the 5 race Regatta is sailed in the clear expanses of water off Harwich & Felixstowe where weak tides and fair winds combine to create one of the best sailing areas in the country.
Racing is in four IR2000 classes and two PY Handicap classes, with divisions for sports boats and one designs such as: Sigma 33 * Hunter 707 * Sonata * WSOD * and others.
The event brings together fleets from Sail EAST and the Haven Series. There will also be a Team Challenge Trophy for the best three boat team (Yacht Club or other recognisable organisation).
Ashore, the fleet is welcomed to Haven Ports Yacht Club at Suffolk Yacht Harbour.
An extensive Social programme will be laid on with a
wide selection of food and drink, interspersed with music and dancing.
FRIDAY 25TH MAY Welcoming Party at HPYC.
SATURDAY 29TH MAY Two Round the Cans races, each of about two hours.
Evening Party and Day's Prizegiving.
SUNDAY 30TH MAY Two Olympic type races, each of about two hours. Evening
Party with live music.
MONDAY 31ST MAY One Round the Cans race. Regatta Prizegiving. (First race
each day starts approx. 10.00am)
