This excellent series of books chronicles the exploits of the Royal Navy's Captain Aubrey and his ship's surgeon Maturin as they travel the world fighting the enemy for fame and glory - and not a little prize money as well.
I started reading this series a few years ago and became absolutely hooked. Once you get into them they are difficult to put down.
I recommend reading them in order, although each stands as a readable novel in it's own right. The stories do have a chronology!
The listing here has several entries for each book - you will find that some are from the UK publisher and some from the US publisher. Please check carefully as the prices and availability are different. There does appear to be a large variation in the price for the audio cassettes. (It's also interesting to note that volume 15 is called "Clarissa Oakes" in the UK and "The Truelove" in the USA).
